The fate of Czechoslovak paratroopers after the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich

The bachelor thesis consists of two parts. The practical part is a document called Czechs Don't Give Up: The Fate of the Bodies of Czechoslovak Paratroopers. As the title suggests, the documentary film focuses on the fate of the bodies of Josef Gabčík, Jan Kubiš, Josef Valčík, Adolf Opálka, Josef Bublík, Jan Hrubý, and Jaroslav Švarc. In the first part, there is the atmosphere in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia from the accession to the office of the provisional Reich Protector Reinhard Heydrich to the fight of the paratroopers in the Church of Sts. Cyril and Methodius. This part is presented through newsreels, photographs, and testimonies of historians, researchers, and relatives of Czechoslovak resistance fighters. In the second part, the documentary introduces events after the battle and covers the documented facts describing the fate of the bodies of the Czechoslovak paratroopers. Since their destiny is not notorious even after eighty years, this part also delivers new facts for investigation. The theoretical part serves as a starting point for the audiovisual material. The Siso Sperm Whale - The Face of Illegal Fishing in the Mediterranean Sea

This bachelor thesis consists of two parts. The practical part is a documentary entitled The Siso Sperm Whale - The Face of Illegal Fishing in the Mediterranean Sea which deals with illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing in the Mediterranean Sea and its impacts on the ecosystem. It presents illegal fishing in the South Tyrrhenian Sea and shows how this activity threatens the local environment and contributes to plastic pollution. At the same time, over a two-and-a-half month documentary period, the film illustrates the work of Sea Shepherd, a non-profit organisation that operates in the area. In cooperation with the Italian coastguard and the financial police, is fighting the problem and looking for possible solutions.The theoretical part is the basis of the documentary, defines the concept and the processing of the documentary, describes the basics of audiovisual production, presents a research on the topic under discussion and illustrates the issue of illegal fishing through expert studies. It also touches marginally the media representation of the topic. The last part is a description of its realization and a reflection of the final work.
Women in the French Resistance during World War II and their depiction in French cinema

The bachelor thesis deals with the depiction of women in the French resistance during World War II in French cinema, specifically in the movies Blanche et Marie (1985), Lucie Aubrac (1997) and Les femmes de l'ombre (2008). Each of the movies depicts different activities that the women may have engaged in during the resistance. The thesis focuses on how women are portrayed in movies, whether it coincides with the surviving stories of resistance fighters, and on this basis assesses the importance of movies in the memory of women's resistance during World War II. The thesis first presents basic information about the French resistance, its origin and how women got involved. The thesis deals specifically with women and presents the stories of some resistance fighters, whose example shows the diversity of women who participated in the resistance. The work then briefly introduces the individual movie and analyses how women are portrayed, whether their depiction is sufficient based on preserved stories, and then the thesis describes the specifics of women's activities from individual movies. Non-book material loan in selected libraries - exploration of effectivity

The aim of this thesis is to find out information about non-book material loans in Czech libraries whose variety has been extended. Theoretical part deals with library services focused on less conventional services. Second part focuses on exploration of occurrence and details of these services in Czech libraries. Research is carried out through online questionnaires. Selected libraries will be examine in greater detail. Library statistics, interviews with librarians and patrons, analysis of design and marketing will be used with intention to create case studies. The thesis will concluded with comparison of case studies and theoretical part and bring an evaluation of strengths and weaknesses of these services.
Use of Commercials in Teaching German as a Foreign Language

The diploma thesis deals with the use of commercials in teaching of German as a foreign language. Its aim is to describe the didactic potential of working with commercials and to find out whether teachers employ them in their practice and how they perceive them. The theoretical part of the thesis considers the key concepts related to this issue, the use of commercials in education in terms of criteria for their appropriate selection and advantages and disadvantages of their employment in teaching. The dominating subject of the practical part is a research survey among teachers who teach German as a second foreign language at the second level of primary education. The research was carried out by means of a questionnaire survey and an expert assessment. Its aim was to document the current situation of the employment of commercials in teaching and, based on an expert assessment of the didactic processing of two commercials, to clarify how teachers approach this issue. The results show that 70 % of teachers use commercials in their lessons, although not very intensively. Surprisingly, commercials are used more often by older teachers with many years of experience. The lifestyle project "Zero waste" in Czech republic

The bachelor thesis has two parts, practical and theoretical. The practical part, titled Český BEZ ... is a documentary film about the new zero waste lifestyle, a life without waste. The film captures this trend in the Czech Republic in a broad context, confront it on the life of four main characters, it presents alternatives to the conventional way of life, shows advantages in particular, and tries to soberly point out a socially important topic. The theoretical part describes the concept of zero waste in a scholar context, it describes its meaning and values, circumstances of the origin, foreign and subsequently Czech projects and the Czech media image. The conclusion of the work briefly defines documentary work, clarifies the circumstances and the process of the practical output and authors own reflection. Development in media reflection of cycling race Tour de France in daily newspaper Mladá Fronta DNES and in Czech Television in 2010-2015

The thesis "Development in media reflection of cycling race Tour de France in daily newspaper Mladá fronta DNES and in Czech Television in 2010-2015" deals with the world's most famous cycling race and the way it is presented in selected Czech media. It summarizes the basic information about the history of the race and outlines how Tour de France was referred to during given years. Based on a qualitative content analysis, the thesis also examines the news routines that appear in the output, focusing on how the production is affected by the so-called couch journalism and if the results are influenced by the journalists being fans themselves. These phenomena are examined considering six individual Tour de France races. The analyzed media include Mladá fronta DNES and Czech Television, two media flagships, as far as referring to Tour de France is concerned. One of the sources for the practical and theoretical part of this thesis are also interviews with Tomáš Jílek - reporter from Czech Television - and Tomáš Macek - reporter from Mladá fronta DNES.

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá nejúspěšnějších populárně naučných kanálů kanály češtině angličtině Jejím cílem je popsat vybraná videa z obsahových, slovních, neverbálních i technologických prvků a určit ty , které jsou charakteristické pro online video. Bude nás zajímat i to, které prvky poutají pozornost uživatelů, vyvolávají emoce a pomáhají udržet jejich zájem. Teoretický rámec nám poskytnou dvě existující studie na téma populárně naučných videí na YouTube (Welbourne a Grant; obou případech se jedná o analýzu audiovizuálních obsahů prostřednictvím kvantitativních metod. Cílem této práce bude audiovizuální obsahů uživatelské komentáře a využít kombinace kvalitativních a kvantitativních metod - obojí by mohlo poskytnout nové poznatky o tomto relativně novém fenoménu. Z metodologie vychází výzkum videí z kvalitativní obsahové analýzy využívající principů obrazové a sémiotické analýzy. Komentáře byly analyzovány spíše kvantitativními metodami.
